What is Nickel 200 (UNS N02200)?
Designated as UNS N02200 and W.Nr. 2.4060 and 2.4066, Nickel 200 is a solid solution strengthened commercially pure wrought nickel. It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments. Nickel 200 is primarily used in the food processing industry for its corrosion resistance. It can also be used in applications involving reducing chemicals, caustic soda, distilled and natural water, alkaline salt solutions, dry fluorine, and synthetic fibers. Depending on the specific product form, Nickel 200 may have different heat treatments and delivery conditions, resulting in different mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, reduction of area, hardness, etc.).

What is Nickel 201 (UNS N02201)?
Designated as UNS N02201 or W.Nr. 2.4061 and 2.4068, Nickel 201 has a chemical composition that is nearly identical to Nickel 200, but with a lower carbon content. Nickel 201 is commonly found in alkali evaporators, burner boats, plating rods, and electronic components. Nickel 201 has a much lower base hardness and lower work hardening rate than Nickel 200, making it particularly suitable for spinning and cold forming. Nickel 201 is approved for use in the construction of pressure vessels operating up to 1250°F, per ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII-Division 1. Its mechanical properties also vary with the manufacturing process and heat treatment conditions.
